GP3 Series | Rio Haryanto Finis ke-25

BARCELONA, KOMPAS.com – Rio Haryanto, Minggu (9/5/2010), menutup race kedua seri pembuka GP3 Series di Sirkuit Catalunya, Spanyol, dengan finis di posisi ke-25. Sehari sebelumnya, dalam race pertama, Sabtu, Rio finis di posisi ke-20 dari 29 pebalap peserta.

Pada race kedua, setelah start dari posisi ke-20 (sesuai hasil race pertama), Rio sempat berada di posisi ke-16. Namun, ketika periodeyellow flage, ia dinilai steward kurang memperlambat mobil.

Yellow flage adalah periode yang terjadI saat ada kecelakaan dan trek harus d

ibersihkan dari serpihan komponen mobil. Selama periode ini, seorang pebalap tidak boleh menyalip pebalap lain di depannya. Ia juga tidak boleh menambah kecepatan mobil secara tiba-tiba untuk mendekati pebalap di depannya.

Namun, Rio melakukan hal itu. “Waktu mengikuti Formula BMW Pacific,

mendekati pebalap yang berada di depan saat yellow flag biasa dilakukan. Bukan hanya saya, pebalap lain juga melakukan itu. Di ajang GP3 Series, hal ini rupanya dilarang,” ujar Rio, juara umum Formula BMW Pacific 2009.

Alhasil, Rio dihukum drive through, yaitu wajib masuk ke jalur pit. Kehilangan waktu karena harus melewati jalur pit, Rio pun melorot dari urutan ke-16 ke posisi ke-25.

GP3 Series yang berbasis di Eropa baru diadakan pada tahun ini. Ajang tersebut terdiri dari sembilan seri dan di setiap seri digelar dua race. Putaran GP3 Series digelar berbarengan dengan Formula Satu.

Bergabung dengan Tim Manor, Rio mengaku akan menjadikan musim perdananya ini sebagai periode adaptasi. “Target saya sementara adalah masuk di papan tengah. Mungkin baru di seri-seri terakhir, saya berani pasang target masuk lima besar,” ujar Rio, yang dalam kualifikasi Sabtu pagi lalu menempati urutan ke-13.

Race pertama GP3 Series dimenangi oleh Pal Varhaug, sedangkan race kedua dimenangi oleh Alexander Rossi.

Kompetisi – Dapatkan $200 Setiap Bulan!

Baru saja saya temukan sebuah forum yang sedang mengadakan sebuah kompetisi dengan hadiah $200 setiap bulannya.
